Field Theory x Gramicci x SoiLL Launch Party

The Field Theory Team is extremely excited to announce a collaborative weekend with the brands Gramicci, SO ILL and Climb SO ILL on the weekend of October 20th. The event will kick-off a two week immersive Fall pop-up of Gramicci at Field Theory. The three brands are partnering on a Pop-up launch at Field Theory in Webster Groves and also for a climbing social at the Climb SO ILL Steel Shop Gym in St. Charles.

We’re going to party with a launch event at Field Theory. We will have SO ILL and Gramicci in store with their wide range of products, as well as music, complimentary drinks and good company. Music will be provided by NADIR.

Background Information on Gramicci:

In 1982, Gramicci was born—taking its name from a moniker Graham had given himself back when a few of the Stonemasters attempted the first ‘all-Italian’ ascent of Yosemite’s notorious Half-Dome (even though none of them were actually Italian). After the shorts came trousers—and word of these seemingly-indestructible pants—dubbed the G-Pants—soon spread. Their popularity wasn’t limited to rock climbers either, and by the mid-80s a small contingent of surfers and skaters were seeking out these hard-wearing pants with the little hand-drawn ‘running man’ logo. Gramicci also found favor on the streets of Tokyo—and when time came for Gramicci to find a new home—Japan was the perfect place. Since then, Gramicci has continued to innovate and push new ideas, all the while retaining its original ethos. 40 years since the first pair of Gramicci shorts were sewn together in Mike Graham’s garage, the song remains the same—it’s hard-wearing, functional clothing, designed with movement firmly in mind.

Background Information on SO ILL:

Dan Chancellor (SO ILL Brand) and Dave Chancellor (Climb SO ILL Gyms) are titans in not only the local climbing scene, but have made a global impact on the sport. Both competed around the country and grew deeply in love with climbing. The brother’s grew up in Saint Louis and learned to climb on the cliffs in the surrounding areas from Southern Illinois to Southern Missouri. Whether you are in LA, Tokyo or St. Louis, you can absolutely see how much the Chancellor’s have contributed to climbing and the climbing community.
